Eni and Anadarko set the unitization of Area 4 and 1 in the Rovuma Basin offshore Mozambique

Eni and Anadarko announce that, following the signing of the Unitization and Unit Operating Agreement (UUOA) and in full agreement with all the concessionaries of the projects, a unitization was set out for the development of natural gas reservoirs straddling Areas 4 and 1 in the Rovuma Basin, offshore Mozambique. Area 4 is operated by Eni East Africa while Area 1 is operated by Anadarko Mozambique Area 1 Ltd.

Anadarko Achieves New Mozambique LNG Milestones

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation  (NYSE: APC) today announced that, along with the concessionaires of Offshore Area 1 (operated by Anadarko Mozambique Area 1 Ltd. (AMA1)) and Offshore Area 4 (operated by  Eni East Africa  (EEA)), it has signed a Unitization and Unit Operating Agreement (UUOA) for the development of the massive natural gas resources that straddle the two blocks.  

Eni, together with Statoil, Sasol and ENH, have been awarded a new exploration block in the offshore of Mozambique

Eni, together with Statoil, Sasol and ENH, have been awarded, following the 5th Competitive Mozambique Bid Round,  the exploration and development rights of the offshore block  A5-A, in the area of Mozambique named Angoche,  about 1,500 kilometers northeast of the capital city  Maputo. The block, which covers a total area of di 5,145 square kilometers in a water depth between 200 and 1800 meters, is placed within an unexplored area of the Northern Zambesi Basin, which the consortium estimate to contain significant hydrocarbon resources.

Anadarko Selects Contractor For Initial Onshore Mozambique LNG Development

Kifaru Drilling Operations Commence

Wentworth, the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE: WRL) and AIM (AIM: WRL) listed independent, East Africa-focused oil & gas company, today announces that drilling operations have commenced on the Kifaru-1 exploration well in the Rovuma Onshore Concession in northern Mozambique.  Wentworth has an 11.59% net interest in this well, which is being operated by Anadarko and drilled with the Helmerich & Payne rig #243. 

Sasol, EDM Inaugurate New Gas-to-Power Plant in Mozambique

Earlier today, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza, and the Mozambican Minister of Energy, Salvador Namburete, joined the chairman of the Mozambican state power utility, Electridade deMozambique (EDM), Augusto Fernando de Sousa and the President and CEO of Sasol, David Constable, at the inauguration of Central Termica de Ressano Garcia (CTRG).

Sasol, ENH and Eni Announce Pre-Feasibility Study for Large-Scale Gas-to-Liquids Facility in Mozambique

Today, Sasol Limited (Sasol) announced a joint pre-feasibility study for a large-scale gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant, which will be based on gas from the Rovuma Basin in Northern Mozambique. The study, which is being conducted in conjunction with Mozambique's national oil company, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) and Italian multinational, Eni, will assess the viability and benefits of such a plant to the region.
