Kosmos Energy Acquires Hess Corp. Assets in Equatorial Guinea

The assets of Hess Corporation (NYSE: HES) (www.Hess.com) in Equatorial Guinea will be acquired by Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS) (www.KosmosEnergy.com), the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons has announced. The landmark sale transfers majority ownership and operatorship of two legacy oil producing areas in the Rio Muni basin, Ceiba and Okume, to Kosmos.

AfDB and OpenOil launch report on how African governments manage extractive resources

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and OpenOil, a Berlin-based financial analysis firm, have jointly produced a report on how African governments use financial models to manage oil & gas and mining projects. The report was launched at the 13th Annual General Meeting of the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) in Geneva, Switzerland.

South Sudan's First Energy Event Attracts 400 Delegates, Catalyst for Cooperation with Sudan and Uganda

South Sudan’s first ever energy and infrastructure conference, endorsed by the Ministry of Petroleum and organized by Africa Oil & Power, launched last week and was oversubscribed by 30 percent. Four hundred delegates, including the Vice President, the Minister of Petroleum and five cabinet ministers, the presidents of all South Sudan’s joint operating companies, representatives from international oil companies CNPC, Petronas and Tullow Oil and ministerial delegations from Uganda and Sudan, attended the two-day event. Fifty speakers addressed the audience in Juba in a series of keynote speeches, presentations, workshops and panel discussions.

Bomono Farm-out Extension

On 6 March 2017 Victoria Oil & Gas Plc, a Cameroon energy utility, announced that the Company and Bowleven Oil & Gas Plc (“Bowleven”), the African focused oil and gas exploration company, had signed a farm-out agreement (“the Agreement”) relating to the Bomono production sharing contract.

Successful Flow Tests and First Production Gas from Logbaba Well La-107

Following the drilling update of 17 August 2017, Victoria Oil & Gas Plc is pleased to announce successful flow tests and first production gas from the Logbaba La-107 well. The well reached target depth of 3,180m, the base of the Logbaba Formation, encountering a total of 58m of net gas bearing sands in the Upper and Lower Logbaba Formations.
