Ivan Kyayonka the current Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Uganda, is set to retire at the end of this year, after working for the company for 31 years.
Ivan Kyayonka joined Shell Uganda as a Graduate Engineer in 1982 and after apprentice training in the Netherlands and Germany, was deployed in various positions in Shell Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
For the last 10 years, Ivan Kyayonka was the Country Chairman of Shell Uganda and Shell Tanzania whilst doubling as East Cluster Supply & Distribution Manager. Since February 2013, he has served as the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda.
Vivo Energy Uganda commends Ivan Kyayonka on the outstanding contribution he has made in his long-standing career with Shell and Vivo Energy, and wish him all the best in the future. Kyayonka will be replaced as Managing Director by Hans Paulsen.
Paulsen brings a wealth of experience having spent over 15 years in senior posts including Chief Executive Officer at American Towers Cooperation (ATC), the largest independent owner and operator of shared wireless infrastructure in Uganda, and subsequently as a consultant to ATC Uganda. Hans also served as Managing Director at Zambia Telecommunications Company and prior to that as the Chief Operations Officer at Uganda Telecom. Before joining Uganda Telecom, Hans served in various management roles at Shell East Africa and Shell Uganda.
