Africa Oil Announces Farm-Out Deal With Maersk Oil for Kenya and Ethiopia Blocks

Africa Oil Corp. ("Africa Oil" or the "Company") (TSX:AOI)(OMX:AOI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a definitive farmout agreement with Maersk Oil & Gas A/S, a Danish oil and gas company owned by the Maersk Group ("Maersk") whereby Maersk will acquire 50% of Africa Oil's interests in Blocks 10BB, 13T and 10BA in Kenya and the Rift Basin and South Omo Blocks in Ethiopia in consideration for reimbursement of a portion of Africa Oil's past costs and a future carry on certain exploration and development costs.

Swala Awards Drill Support Contract

Swala Energy Limited (“Swala”) (ASX: SWE) is pleased to announce that its partly-owned subsidiary, Swala Oil and Gas (Tanzania) Plc (“Swala Tanzania”), as Operator of the Kilosa-Kilombero and Pangani licences, has awarded the Drill Support Team contract for the 2016 drilling campaign to the Tanzanian subsidiary of AWT International (Asia) Sdn Bhd ("AWT"), a Singapore-headquartered firm offering subsurface, subsea and surface facilities engineering services and contracting solutions to the oil and gas industry.

BP to accelerate development of first phase of Atoll field in Egypt

BP today announced that it has signed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) with the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, His Excellency Eng. Tarek El Molla, regarding the acceleration of the development of the recent Atoll gas discovery. The Atoll discovery (BP 100%) in the North Damietta Offshore Concession in the East Nile Delta, offshore Egypt was announced in March 2015.

SNE2 First Appraisal Well Starts Drilling Offshore Senegal

The first appraisal well to be drilled on the SNE oil field located 100km offshore Senegal has been spudded. The SNE-2 well will be drilled in approximately 1,100 metres of water and drilled to a TDVSS (total vertical depth subsea) of approximately 2,770 metres before an evaluation program including logging, coring and flow testing is undertaken.

Chevron Announces First Production from the Lianzi Development Offshore the Republic of Congo and Angola

Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) announced today that its subsidiary, Chevron Overseas (Congo) Limited, has commenced oil and gas production from the Lianzi Field, located in a unitized offshore zone between the Republic of Congo and the Republic of Angola.

Eni, together with Statoil, Sasol and ENH, have been awarded a new exploration block in the offshore of Mozambique

Eni, together with Statoil, Sasol and ENH, have been awarded, following the 5th Competitive Mozambique Bid Round,  the exploration and development rights of the offshore block  A5-A, in the area of Mozambique named Angoche,  about 1,500 kilometers northeast of the capital city  Maputo. The block, which covers a total area of di 5,145 square kilometers in a water depth between 200 and 1800 meters, is placed within an unexplored area of the Northern Zambesi Basin, which the consortium estimate to contain significant hydrocarbon resources.

Statoil to Explore Offshore South Africa

Statoil has completed a farm-in transaction with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production South Africa Limited (ExxonMobil), acquiring a 35 percent interest in the ER 12/3/154 Tugela South Exploration Right.
The remaining interests are held by the operator ExxonMobil (40%) and co-venturer Impact Africa Limited (Impact Africa) (25%). 

ERHC Energy reaches Agreement with Kosmos for Block 11, São Tomé and Principe EEZ

ERHC Energy Inc. (OTCMKTS: ERHE), a publicly traded American company with oil and gas assets in Sub-Saharan Africa announced today that it has reached an agreement with Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS), a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused on frontier and emerging areas to transfer all ERHC's rights to Block 11 of the São Tomé and Principe Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to Kosmos.
