2D seismic acquisition programme completed offshore Namibia

BP Makes Second Gas Discovery - Egypt Offshore

BP Egypt announced today another important gas discovery in the North Damietta Offshore Concession in the East Nile Delta. The “Atoll-1” deepwater exploration well, currently being drilled using the 6th generation semi-submersible rig “Maersk Discoverer,” has reached 6,400 metres depth and penetrated approximately 50 metres of gas pay in high quality Oligocene sandstones. Expected to be the deepest well ever drilled in Egypt, the Atoll well still has another 1 kilometre to drill to test the same reservoir section found to be gas bearing in BP’s significant 2013 Salamat discovery, 15 kilometres to the south.

BP Finalises Deal To Develop Egypt’s West Nile Delta Gas Fields

BP today announced that it has signed the final agreements of the West Nile Delta project to develop 5 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas resources and 55 million barrels (mmbbls) of condensates with an estimated investment of around $12 billion by BP and its partner. The project underlines BP’s commitment to the Egyptian market and is a vote of confidence in Egypt’s investment climate and economic potential. 

VAALCO Energy Announces Drilling Has Commenced On Block 5 Offshore Angola

VAALCO Energy, Inc. (NYSE: EGY) today announced that on March 2, 2015, the Company spudded the post-salt Kindele-1 well, its first exploration well on Block 5 offshore Angola.  As previously announced, VAALCO contracted the Transocean "Celtic Sea" semi-submersible rig to drill the Kindele-1 well to a planned total depth of 2,250 meters in a water depth of approximately 100 meters. 

Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire Maritime Boundary Arbitration Update

Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) announces that it has been advised by the Government of Ghana that the Government of Côte d'Ivoire has applied for provisional measures to be ordered in Ghana's maritime boundary dispute with Côte d'Ivoire which is in arbitration before a Special Chamber of the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Hamburg. 

Kosmos Energy Provides Update on 2015 Exploration Drilling Program

Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS) announced today that the CB-1 exploration well located in the Cap Boujdour permit area offshore Western Sahara encountered hydrocarbons. The well penetrated approximately 14 meters of net gas and condensate pay in clastic reservoirs over a gross hydrocarbon bearing interval of approximately 500 meters. The discovery is non-commercial, and the well will be plugged and abandoned.

Kiliwani North Development Licence Sale - Tanzania

Aminex is pleased to notify shareholders that it has received formal approval from the Tanzanian Authorities to sell up to 13% of its interest in Kiliwani North Development Licence (“KNDL”) to Solo Oil plc (“Solo”). There now remains no further conditions precedent to the sale of 6.5% KNDL to Solo for $3.5 million. Following this, Solo retains the right to purchase an additional 6.5% on the same terms up to 30 days after the signing of the Gas Sales Agreement.
