ExxonMobil and its partners said today they will further invest in Block 15 offshore Angola to increase production as part of an agreement with Angola’s recently established National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels. As part of the agreement, Sonangol, Angola’s state oil company, will receive a 10 percent equity interest.

Total has agreed to develop joint activities in the downstream petroleum sector in Angola, with national company Sonangol. Already long-term partners in the upstream business, the two companies have decided to establish a Joint Venture company to develop a common retail and distribution activity in the country, the fourth largest market in sub-Saharan Africa.

Eni started production two weeks ahead of schedule at the Cinguvu oil field, from the West Hub Development Project in Block 15/06 in the Angolan Deep Offshore, approximately 350 kilometres northwest of Luanda and 130 kilometres west of Soyo. The start-up follows the achievement of West Hub’s first oil through Sangos field start-up, during last November 2014.

Eni obtained a three-year extension from the Angolan authorities to the exploration period of the prolific Block 15/06, located in Angola’s offshore, approximately 350 kilometers north-west of the capital Luanda and 130 kilometers east of Soyo town.

Eni has started production of first oil from the West Hub Development Project in Block 15/06 in the Angolan Deep Offshore, approximately 350 kilometres northwest of Luanda and 130 kilometres west of Soyo.
The field is currently producing 45,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) through the N’Goma FPSO, with production ramp-up expected to reach a daily production of up to 100,000 bopd in the coming months. The start-up of the East Hub Development, expected in 2017, will raise overall production from Block 15/06 to 200,000 bpd.

The Chairman of Sonangol, the National Oil Company of Angola, Francisco de Lemos Maria, and Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi signed today a strategic agreement on future co-operation activities and joint projects in the oil and gas sector to develop in the country.

VAALCO Energy, Inc. (NYSE: EGY) today announced that the Company has entered into the Subsequent Exploration Phase ("SEP") on Block 5 offshore Angola together with its working interest partner, Sonangol P&P, as provided for in the Production Sharing Agreement signed in 2006 with the Republic of Angola.

Total, operator of Block 17 in Angola, today started up CLOV, a major deep offshore development located 140 kilometers offshore Luanda, in line with the initial project schedule. With a production capacity of 160,000 barrels per day, CLOV will develop proven and probable reserves of over 500 million barrels. After Girassol, Dalia and Pazflor, CLOV is the fourth Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit on Block 17.
